PURPOSE STATEMENT

This position is responsible for coordinating activities of student services including promoting positive public relations, providing a wide variety of services to students, staff and the public and managing testing and data processing. Schedule appointments for administrators and counselors. Coordinate counseling and testing events.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Greet and assist students, parents, staff and the public in a professional, friendly and caring manner; promote positive public relations for Walla Walla High School and the district.
  2. Receive calls from parents/guardians regarding questions or problems with student records; answer questions as appropriate and/or direct to appropriate individuals.
  3. Maintain a variety of detailed program records, such as enrollment, student counts, student schedules, prepare, compile and analyze data.
  4. Enter data and retrieve student records on the student records system (Skyward); maintain complete and accurate records; prepare reports and statistical data.
  5. Perform a variety of specialized functions, such as: enroll and withdraw students, track records, perform master schedule data entry and support.
  6. Compile information and assist the Assistant Principals in typing reports, correspondence, lists and other communications.
  7. Assist registrar and Athletic Secretary with records, cumulative files, Family ID, etc.
  8. Assist with senior culminating project, including helping students sign up and answer questions.
  9. Assist with miscellaneous activities within the high school office in general.
  10. Perform a variety of secretarial tasks to include office management, word processing, spreadsheet and data base management.
  11. Assist in contacting students for summer school and support staff during the summer.
  12. Make non-instructional decisions as needed in administrator absence.
  13. Be a role model for students and interact positively with students, parents, staff and the public.
  14. Model appropriate and cooperative behavior, including protecting confidential information.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  1. Provide secretarial assistance to assistant principals.
  2. May supervise students in the office, monitor behavior, refer student problems to administrators, counselors, etc.
  3. May serve on various district committees and/or departmental work teams.
  4. Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.

Secretary II on the PSE Classified Salary Schedule A

Eight (8) hours per day, five (5) days per week, 260 days per school year; flexible work hours will be required at times; PSE Salary Schedule, Retirement, SEBB Benefits, 13 Holidays, Paid Sick Leave
